Programme for accompanying persons

We are delighted to welcome accompanying persons of URSI GASS 2026 delegates to a specially designed programme that combines the discovery of Kraków's rich history and culture with participation in selected Congress social events.

The programme includes two guided sightseeing tours, complimentary public transportation throughout the Congress period, and invitations to selected official Congress events.

Accompanying persons are kindly requested to collect their badge at the Registration Desk, located in the Main Foyer of the ICE Kraków Congress Centre.

Complimentary public transportation is available after collecting your Congress badge. Your badge serves as your travel pass on Kraków public transportation throughout the Congress period - starts from 15th August. Detailed information regarding your travel entitlement will be provided upon registration.

Immediately following the Opening Ceremony, accompanying persons are warmly invited to the Welcome Reception—an excellent opportunity to meet delegates from around the world in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Celebrate the conclusion of URSI GASS 2026 together with delegates from across the globe during the official Closing Ceremony.

Kraków is a city of remarkable landmarks, fascinating legends and centuries of history. During this guided walk, participants will follow part of the famous Royal Route – the ceremonial path once used by Polish kings entering the city. Starting at Wawel Hill, the tour continues through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, including the Main Market Square and many of Kraków's most iconic monuments.

Once an independent royal town and later the historic centre of Jewish life in Kraków, Kazimierz is today one of the city's most vibrant and fascinating districts. During this guided tour, participants will discover its unique history, beautiful synagogues, charming streets, lively squares and artistic atmosphere that make Kazimierz one of Kraków's most beloved neighbourhoods.

Enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring an elegant buffet dinner, an open bar and live entertainment in one of Kraków's most iconic historic venues, located in the heart of the vibrant Kazimierz district.

Please note that the Gala Dinner is not included in either the Congress registration fee or the Accompanying Persons Programme fee.

Participation in the Gala Dinner is optional and requires separate registration and an additional fee. Both Congress delegates and accompanying persons wishing to attend must purchase a Gala Dinner ticket during the registration process.
